Hey! My name is Colleen. I have been a group fitness instructor for five years and a Personal Trainer for two. I am also heavily involved in eating disorders outreach and advocacy. I believe strongly that popular portrayals of "fitness" and "health" focus on aesthetics at the expense of promoting real (and realistic) health education that values both physical and mental well-being.
First things first - this isn't a blog to give you the secrets to finding fitness success - the truth is, it's completely different for every person. This blog is about finding balance in a world that far too often skews the meaning of fitness to further project unrealistic expectations of physical appearance rather than physical health. I want to challenge these popular notions. This blog is intended to provide readers with resources that address health and fitness from a comprehensive, holistic perspective.
You'll find lots of things here - fun food ideas and recipes that actually NOURISH your body, fitness combinations and movements that contribute to physical vitality, articles that challenge superficial notions of health, and...some of my thoughts on these subjects. It's a blog!
